Sandwich Bag Struggles (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by italyphoenix
Hope everyone is doing better than I am on this fine morning! As an ex-sbux partner, I know how terrible our bags are. Yet every time they never cease to amaze me at their progressively worse structural integrity.

I ordered a panini on my way to class this morning and literally as it was being handed to me the bottom of the bag ripped open and the sandwich fell straight to the floor between the poor partner and I. They apologized and I just laughed at the pain of remembering this happening myself, and let them know it was all good that I’ll clean it up if they could please remake it. Second sandwich was handed off successfully… until I stepped foot out of the store. Yes, from the first experience I should have made sure to be holding it from the bottom as to remove any possibility of escapism, but already thin on time before making it to class I was in a rush to leave. My poor chicken caprese, for a second time, went splat all over the concrete. I just stared at it in a moment of silence before deciding I couldn’t bare another exchange and left for my class, panini-less.

Today will just be full of pain and suffering until I can go back and ask for another remake :’(

Can this company PLEASE make structurally secure bags for the love of god.

Lately all of the panini bags haven’t actually been “sealed” at the seems. Bag after bag after bag and none of them are able to hold together. It’s exhausting on our end and I’m sorry you went hungry for it ):

Anyone else also dealing with ridiculous grande/venti cold lids that DO NOT STAY ON??? It’s honestly amazing how many crappy products this company rolls out daily.

Or they won't go on. There was one day where all 3 or 4 of us that were working had to try to get a lid on a frap. We literally couldn't get it on and the customer was at the window watching so I just asked if we could dump it in a larger cup and hopefully get the lid on that one. It worked thank goodness but I'm pretty sure that customer was judging us

The containers that the egg bites come in, specifically the egg white bites, have been absolutely god awful. It doesn’t peel off or just peels around the egg bites and then I have to walk and get scissors, cut it open and play an extremely risky game of “will i accidentally touch the egg bites by trying to open them?”

It’s so annoying during peak when I’m getting like 10 egg white bite orders in 15 minutes

This is a huge problem for my store too. Also the bacon egg bites have been sticking really badly to the packaging and coming out in pieces, while leaving behind a good fourth of the food.

I really have to try my hardest to not curse while it’s 5am and I’m trying to rip some egg bites open because I’ve got 4 people wanting them

Why is Starbucks so unreasonably cheap when it comes to packaging, utensils, brewers, etc? And they wonder why we all hate our lives

The quality control has SEVERLY the plummeted since the pandemic and I’m starting to wonder if it will ever resolve. I’m tired of bags that aren’t seal and lids that don’t have a secure rim or even the mouth hole in the correct place. -sincerely partner who’s tired of throwing away product when we’re still battling shortages

I would put the delivery stickers on the back for that exact reason lol

We literally had to pull our entire order of the panini bags today because almost every one we used broke and the customers came back to ask for remakes over and over, straight up had to stop using them 🙃

The bags ripping and the dome lids are the banes of my existence

The panini bags have been absolutely terrible the last couple of weeks. If I come in tomorrow and they’re still flimsy I’m gonna scream
