It doesn't surprise me, but I'm sickened by it. Starbucks does a horrible job of protecting their partners. I've seen a serial sexual harasser allowed to keep his job because "he's just playing, he didn't mean anything by it". I had to physically lift him off of a *female customer's lap* at one point because he was not taking "no, go away" for an answer. They kept him around, and nearly a year after that incident I got a phone call from his manager saying they were *finally* opening an investigation into his behavior and did I have anything to contribute? As far as I know he was fired for attendance, not for any of the gross shit he did.
