I’ve been thinking about transferring to a target Starbucks because the pay is much better and they get paid extra during the holidays. Do they have the same benefits as a regular Starbucks? Would it be worth transferring?

And I don’t think you can just transfer- you have to apply to be a target barista because it’s under target not Starbucks

Thank youu

They do not get any starbucks benefits. They are target employees. No partner discount, no marketouts. No health care or spotify or anything.
Sirmarchboy2210 points1y ago
The main thing is, no free drinks on lunch or tens, and no free food either. No bean markouts, etc

No free drinks or food officially, at least.

It's considered stealing and I have seen people get fired :/

You'd have to apply through target, and as for benefits whatever target team members get is what you'll get. None of the starbucks corporate benefits would apply to you.

It's not worth it. Starbucks is about to do 15/hr minimum in August (which is the same minimum at Target), but of course Target doesn't get any of the Starbucks benefits. I can not think of one benefit Target has that Starbucks doesn't (aside from a measly 10% discount at target IF you use a target giftcard/credit card).

.... we get paid time and a half on holidays babes what are you talking about lol
curlystar14 [OP]2 points1y ago
We get paid time and a half on specific holidays. Target pays $2 extra every shift during the holiday season (November+December)
happybowlita832 points1y ago
In that case you can double up jobs during the holidays! I think you can be working at both without any problems because its still sbux and you can just work less hours at the corporate during that time. Although if your store has high tip rates they get better during holiday season and it might come up to about the same too, you should ask or look for the book where tip records are held! I know my store was over a dollar in tips during holidays.
Mission-Accident-9171 points1y ago
you do realize that’s less right? $15 an hour at time an a half is less than $2 extra ?
curlystar14 [OP]2 points1y ago
I make $12 an hour at my current store and we don’t get good tips
Mission-Accident-9171 points1y ago
yikes that’s rough honestly if you’re hurting for ppl and are always short staffed try and negotiate a better base pay sounds very outta pocket but it works sometimes
mulberrybby2 points1y ago
Why not do both? You can work at both as long as you’re not in a position of management
icedoatmilkchai1 points1y ago
i do both hehe
petraltay2 points1y ago
I did it! 100% worth it IMO. I'm making more money with better management and less stress

My former SM went from managing a Target location to a corporate location. She shared with me that it was all Target benefits. Also members that worked that Starbucks could be scheduled to work other areas of Target. They are Target employees and not partners although they get their training programs through Starbucks.

The main thing I know Is they don’t use partner numbers because they get paid through Target so they’re under them
