A Thank You isn't really a Thank You (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MemesandSpeech
Honestly my shift be giving me mad stuff to do and she thinks a "thank you" is a good gesture for all the stuff I be doing or she puts me to do.

Yesterday I was supposed to be on register and one of my partners was supposed to be on bar. He HATES BAR **(He often swears / no filter towards customers, walks away when have more than 3 frapps and asks to switch with me and don't FIFO)** cause of that my manager told me to switch with him EVEN when I refused! 20 minutes later before my shift ends, she tell me to do CS. I refused because I was tired and felt like I was already doing enough **(I dated the sandwiches that the morning crew forgot to do, restock on food & syrups and made backup caramel and VSC. KEEP IN MIND I WAS NOT CS EARLIER BUT GESTURED TO HELP)** At the last minute she was telling me "thank you for your help, etc." and I'm just annoyed seeing as how I'm doing the most and have to pick up after the lazy partners and my big reward is a "Thank You" while the lazy ones get to do whatever and probably put the workload to me.

Seriously If you don't wish to actually put in work or don't properly know how to do your shift job, please leave. Thank you.

Talk to them then. Take a moment the next time you work with that shift and say you're feeling underappreciated and overworked. Everything you said here (minus the dig on your shift) you should tell to your shift.
