So I was recently promoted to SSV and I was wondering how they determined my new pay. I heard shifts get paid 27% more than baristas, but what happens to my raises over the years? Do I take my current pay and add 27% or how do I calculate my new pay. My new pay that was given seems a bit low as it’s only like 15% more than my barista pay. Not sure if I should look more into this.

Some of it changes depending on tenure. The starting rates for ssv is supposed to be 27% higher than it is for baristas. In my area baristas are at $15/hr, so our ssv Pau starts at 19.05. When baristas were bumped to 15 I was raised to 20 as a 2 year partner though.

If you were on the higher end of the barista pay scale your ssv pay may not look like a full 27% from what you were making before. But with added raises that might change by the end of the year as well.

In the same exact boat as you my friend. It seems that they calculate it from the base barista pay with some give or take. As a barista, im making 18/hr, and will be making 21/hr as ssv. In my area, base ssv pay is 20/hr and I have a tenure of 4 yrs so I'm assuming the extra dollar comes from that?? Hope that helps
