Ok. I know everyone’s different. But I feel I had to rant. when I’m on warming I’m very picky about my station being clean of crumbs, wrappers, and other things that happen when it gets really busy. Occasionally I will accidentally touch peoples food and it bothers me so I won’t give that out. Well I seen another partner on warming who touches the sandwiches with their hands, and will touch food items without clean gloves (they’re not wearing any). Am I overreacting? I think it’s gross tbh but I don’t like my coworkers so I’m not gonna tell them.. plus they’re a shift supervisor and they’re also a certified a**hole 😅 Any thoughts on it ??

I thought legally we cannot touch food that’s being handed out to customers? It’s like a food safety thing and can get you fired?

You won’t be fired like the first time but if you continue to do it most likely. I mean do u want ppl touching ur food?

Yeah exactly. I mean I touch the food I put in the display case but if I saw someone with their bare hands touching my food I would be calling the health department

Please have a conversation with your SM about this not only does it break food safety but it’s also really gross. Not to mention it could hurt your stores reputation and hurt your business. Whether it be people avoiding your store or just not buying the food.

Yeah, it just takes one customer noticing and posting online or complaining loudly before you get a bad rep.
People won't just avoid the store, they will complain before they even order and then watch you like a hawk while you make the food.

That’s so gross. I won’t even use a lid thats touched the counter for a drink MUCH LESS touch someone’s food and hand it out.

tbh warming isn’t a fixed position at my store so when i’m solo dto i don’t wear gloves, but i definitely try my best not to touch the food with my hands. grabbing sandwiches like that is nasty

We aren’t supposed to touch it with our hands. We also aren’t supposed to wear gloves. Just the tongs.

Speak to leadership in your store, gently correct partners in the moment, that’s all you can do. I think stores should seized on single standards like not touching food and make it a standard of the week and have all the shifts remind the partners and post something on a whiteboard in the back of the house also. Then a different standard the following week. Make your store a “Standards Store”
