pay match for applying to a new store? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by RecommendationLife34
hey y’all, i work at a licensed store rn, but i have an interview for a corporate store and i’m fairly sure i’ll get the job. do u think they will match my pay at all? i mean ofc soooo much better benefits and organization but i am making quite a bit more at my current job than their starting pay is. i’m making 18/hr at my store as opposed to i think 13.75 at the new one so i’m just wondering

I would highly doubt that they would match your pay. I almost moved states and would’ve gotten an 8 dollar pay cut.

oh damn okay

They won't match your pay. I worked at a licensed store for 2 years so I had starbucks experience and I was a GM at another local coffee shop for three and a half years and I was told the starting wage was non-negotiable, regardless of the experience I had and whatever pay i was making elsewhere. To me it seems kind of silly that they list a pay range on the job posting if they're only going to give you the lowest wage it shows.

damn that sucks :(

Yeah =/ maybe you can apply for shift supervisor to make a little more than you would as a barista. That's what I did

i would but i’m a minor and can only work 20 hours a week haha

Your pay changes depending on where you move to because it reflects the “cost of living” in the area

yea true but this store is like 4 miles away from my current one… it’s just cause we’re unionized and get raises every few months lmao

your current store is probably better pay, starbucks benefits aren’t super helpful for the average person either way

that makes sense but i’m just so done with my store. i’m so overworked and i don’t like the ppl i work with. i also live at home so the lower pay isn’t a huge deal tbh

i have heard a lot of bad things about licensed stores, if it’s hurting you in any way emotionally, mentally, or physically to work there id switch, it would be a lot better for you. sorry i know licensed stores tend to be extremely understaffed im sorry for what you go through :(

Oh darn!! Best of luck to you in moving from a licensed store to corporate!
