What’s the call out policy? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by emtionallyconfused14
Hi! I was wondering if anyone can link to where I can find the corporate call out policy?
My store had a few people call out sick recently, myself included where there response is since we passed covid coach we need to come in or find coverage. And I’m sorry but just because I don’t have covid according to sbucks does not mean I am not sick and it definitely shouldn’t mean I have to come to work. In my past retail experience being sick meant just that, they legally could not even ask what kind of sick and they could ask you to try and find coverage but it was not a requirement.
I find it hard to believe that starbucks would want us at work sick and I’m assuming my store just doesn’t want to be short or my SM is annoyed with all the call outs or both.
Please help.

If you are sick, you cant come in. Its a health hazard. Its also up to them to get coverage. My shifts got in trouble for having us find coverage for our shifts while sick.

My SM has told the shifts that we need to come in unless we have coverage though

Ill double check the policy tomorrow while at work and find the page where the policy is. You shouldnt be finding your own coverage.

double checked with SM- they cant force you to stay if you wre sick but technically its 50/50 on finding coverage. They have to help you find it if ur sick.

This is in the partner guide, which you can find on the partner hub. Personally, if I’m able to, I try to help find coverage when I call out sick, but it ultimately is not your responsibility (I just have a really good relationship with my team and want to help out when i can)

In the partner guide. If you search for it a PDF will pop up
