how long did it take for you to get tired of our drinks/food? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by diphenhydranautical
i got hired mid october, and i’ve really only been drinking green tea lightly sweetened with strawberry pieces lately because everything else just repulses me now. haven’t been eating anything on my breaks either, maybe kale egg bites if i’m really hungry but half the time i have to force myself to. how long did it take you guys to be sick of our menu? i don’t even dislike it necessarily, just tired of the same things!!

and while we’re here, if you guys have any interesting drink ideas (nothing too sweet!) let me know! i need something new!

been here a year and a half and still not tired. to be fair though, i have adhd so i can go through phases of only eating one food item on breaks/lunches for weeks or months at a time without getting sick of it. i would recommend a dragon drink with a couple pumps of vanilla and no inclusions, or, while its in season, an iced blonde latte with 1 pump pistachio and 1 pump cinnamon dolce. tastes like cinnamon toast crunch.

that’s funny that you say that, i have the same cycles with the food/drinks, and my go to for a while was dragon drink with vanilla bean powder. if you do the mango dragonfruit with black tea and vanilla syrup it’s also really good!!

i’ll have to try the pistachio/cinnamon dolce tonight , thank you!!

ooh! i like the mango dragonfruit with black tea, never thought to try it with vanilla!

it sounds a little weird but it’s so good! it’s my go to when customers ask for a surprise drink that isn’t coffee💜
canidieyet_ 2 points 1y ago
i don’t doubt it being good! definitely trying it when i go back to work 🥰

i have been playing around with the food to try to make it better. for example when customers ask for no bacon i always save it to add it on a sandwich later for my breaks. if i have an extra food mark out though, the inside of a double smoked bacon on an everything bagel with sriracha HITS. you toast the bagel a little bit first with butter on it, then put the thing together and toast it on double smoked bacon. basically a bagel sandwich

yesss i don’t eat meat so my options are much more limited but kale egg bites on an everything bagel with avo or cream cheese is fantastic , just haven’t been in the mood for that lately

About a year and I’m tired of most things. I now just get a brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso with a splash of sweet cream. Most other things make me feel sick. Although simetimes I’ll get something else if I’m in the mood

my go to is grande BOSE with four shots, 3 pumps brown sugar and 1 pump of either toffee nut, vanilla, or dark caramel depending on my mood. it definitely gets me going! i think that’s probably the best drink we have on the menu tbh, and i think a lot of baristas will agree
the-OG-darkshrreder 2 points 1y ago
Similar here. Bose with 8brsgr, ex cinnamon, and filled up to the sweet cream line with oatmilk, then sweet cream the rest of the way. Has to be blonde shots to, you’d be surprised how often it gets made with normal.

I never stray from the double smoked bacon, it’s what I’ve had for the past year. For the coffees however, I’m so tired of the sweeteners and flavor of our coffee. I just get lemonade or water lol

Almost 15 months, to be fair there’s a ton of stuff on the menu that I can’t/don’t eat for multiple reasons (one of which being that I’m vegan and the vast majority of stuff on the Starbucks menu contains dairy), but my god I’m sick of the stuff I can have. It’s worse bc it’s like 10 things. I sometimes feel myself dying internally when marking out a plain oatmeal or a bagel with nothing on it lol.

I also just hate the flavor profile of a lot of the drinks. They’re way too sweet and the novelty has long, long since worn off. I literally don’t understand how people drink this stuff every day, let alone at 5:45am.

also a vegan at works at the Bux, I recommend bringing in vegan cream cheese or butter to keep at the store for the bagels! other than that, our options are literally horrible lmao

if you ever want to spice up your oatmeal i suggest trying it with steamed nondairy (almond or oat are my favorite ones to use), 1 pump mocha, some cinnamon powder, and 1 half pumps of the brown sugar syrup (or just a little bit of the brown sugar that comes in the packet)

I sometimes do cinnamon powder and a stevia packet lol

i don't eat meat so my options were... really limited so i got pretty bored with the food probably 6/7 months in i think but i still eat it when i'm on my lunch here because hey a markout is a markout lol but i don't think i'll ever get tired of the drinks just because there's still so many combinations of things i have yet to try, and when i start getting restless then we get new syrups or smth in yknow? on days that i just don't know what i want to drink bc nothing feels right i just pick smth a customer ordered that got my interest lol, can't ever guarantee they're good but it's always something lmao it's where i got my appreciation for matcha+apple brown sugar syrup or peppermint with our mango refreshers or toffee nut in iced green tea or any other combo of stuff i wouldn't have spontaneously thought to try myself

Hired in August, got tired by April 😅 Now I bring my own breakfast for my breaks in the mornings
diphenhydranautical [OP] 2 points 1y ago
i’ve been considering bringing my own food, but i work two jobs and am the only one between me and my partner with a car, so i don’t get much down time! that is a smart idea though :’)

Hired in November last year, in the kind of person that gets the same thing until its gross to me and then try something new, ive only recently been trying the other food items after only eating ham and Swiss croissants or chicken bacon on my tens.

I do not like the turkey pestos

Edit for spelling errors

I’ll be honest I’ve worked at Starbucks 5+ years and a pink drink still goes as hard as the first day
Perfect-Leadership58 2 points 1y ago
hired in october and i go through phases of being tired of our food and not, i can’t afford to bring meals to work so i usually go off of anything i’m craving, like cheese or bacon. at this point i mostly drink water on my breaks though :^)

I was there a little over two years…I think I got sick of the food and majority of drinks after the first year. Second year I would occasionally crave something and mark it out. When I first started I loved making a bunch of Frappuccinos to try out and new drinks
