Vanilla sweet cream? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by DesertNinja93
I usually get a cold brew with cream, vanilla, and light ice (said in this order to try and alleviate confusion) because one of the times they asked "vanilla sweet cream cold brew?" I said yes. I did not care for it at all, but I don't actually know how it's made.. Is it different? Am I crazy and just being a pain in the ass? If not, is there a better way to order this drink so as to not have them think I mean the vanilla sweet cream cold brew every time?

You want a cold brew with vanilla syrup, half and half, and light ice - the vanilla sweet cream cold brew is made with a splash of vanilla sweet cream (heavy cream, 2%, and vanilla syrup mixture)

I think saying half and half vs cream will pretty much eliminate the confusion there

Don’t worry about not knowing what goes in a drink. I sure as heck did not know a thing before starting to work there. But here’s the gist of it: cold brews all come out black from the same keg (including nitro but the pump just aerates it). So if you order a vanilla sweet cream cold brew, we pump some vanilla syrup in a cup, fill it with cold brew from the tap, and then in goes the ice and topped off with the vanilla sweet cream. The reason why we ask is because theres a button for cold brew and a different button for vanilla sweet cream/salted caramel etc cold brew. You don’t have to tell us the order like that to alleviate confusion. Just make sure to say the size first and we’ll kind of know what you want when you describe it! :) just say you want a grande cold brew with vanilla syrup and a splash of half and half (what people usually know as cream) light ice and you’re good !
