What should I do? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by RefreshingRedditor
I recently got hired at a Starbucks but my manager seems to be forgetful. He said he would call me after my background check completed which it did. I was patient but after about 3 days I decided to call him and he said he’d call me to schedule training. I never received a call so I called him about a day after and he said he’s call me around 2 to discuss it. It’s currently 3:42 and I haven’t received a call yet. What should I do? I don’t want to be annoying or feel like a pest. Should I call him again?

Yes call again. My manager was also like this when I got hired

How many times did you call your manager

I dont even know tbh 💀 but it was a lot. I called when she never did so like 1-2 times a week and then also called at the scheduled times she said she would call me (and didn't) so add that on there like 5 times. Honestly if they get annoyed, it's their problem. THEYRE the manager, not you. So just keep calling until you're able to be stabilized with shifts and stuff

Call again. Managers have a lot on their mind and usually a lot of potential candidates applying. Just politely remind him.

Alright, I just wasn’t sure if it would seem like I’m nagging him if I’m constantly calling him because he never remembers

No it actually reflects better on you. It’ll show you’re being proactive and care about getting the job. My manager wasn’t very responsive when I was applying so I consistently called back and secured an interview and got hired on the spot. So a little nagging usually works.
