I’m about to quit/possibly be fired for a no call no show, but I was sick for all of my shifts the past week, am I still able to write that I want to use sick time in the book or am I screwed?
edit to clarify that i had called in the first day i was sick, and wasn't aware i needed to call in every day. a few months ago i called in and my manager periodically called or texted to check how i was doing and that wasn't the case this time. and my question isn't am i going to be fired. i just want to be paid for the sick hours i have, i don't care about keeping this miserable job

U can use sick time for days that u are sick. I normally write it in the book the next time i go into work after im all better. But why didnt u call ur store or shift or manager to let them kno? It definitely would have avoided this whole possibly getting fired thing 😐

i had called in the day prior and wasn't aware the policy had changed and requires us to call in every day, and i didn't set an alarm one day and slept for like 12 hours because i was sick

why didn’t you call the store and let them know you were sick? unless you were completely incapable of calling and getting someone else to do it for you, i think they are still able to fire you for that

afaik the policy has always been that. maybe it changed a bit at the beginning of covid but it's always been call each day you aren't coming in and even if it was more than 2hrs before shift you can still get in trouble for the absences if they aren't covered, or something like that.

If you had called the store or asked someone to take your shift then you could call partners resources but because you didn’t do that they can fire you

If you were sick and used sick time they can’t fire or write you up but because you failed to follow the proper procedure for calling in, you will most likely be separated. In the future, call at least 2 hours before your shift starts and let them know to avoid this.
