Store was closed and no one is getting paid (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hey y’all, I made a post a few days ago about showing up to my scheduled opening shift even tho my store was closed and no one told me. My store ended up being closed for 4 days totals and no employee will be compensated for that time, and no option was given to pick up shifts at other stores. I was scheduled for 26 hours and I punched for about half of that

I’m pretty angry about this (imaginably my whole store is), but what can we do? Who do we talk to?? I’m pretty sure like this like not policy too.

I would call the ethics hot line (I think that’s the right number) or maybe partner resources. I’m sorry I’m not sure which number to call.

If the store was closed and you weren’t compensated or shifts moved to somewhere else, it definitely has to be against policy. Have you spoken to the DM? They might also be of some help

You should be paid 3 hours of CAT pay for showing up, but that’s it unfortunately. You are able to use up to 3 days of sick time if you have it to offset your hour loss though.

This! Is this store the only one for 20 miles? If not I’m surprised the SM didn’t ask if partners could help out other stores since they will be heavier in traffic due to the closure. I’ve heard of partners being paid for their shift on the day of closure but none past that. This sucks but you can also supplement your pay with vacation hours as well, if you have any.
