how do we clean out the ice bins? (self.starbucksbaristas)

we just opened back up after being closed for quite a while. a lot of partners were transfered and eventually quit. we are dt only and have limited hours only 7-1. we have to clean out the ice bins once a month but no one (including the shift) knows how to. our store manager is being trained and we keep forgetting to ask the sm who is training her! i think the ice bins are the same for most stores so hopefully someone could either tell us how or point us to where we could find out how!
edit: sorry for the confusion!! im taking about the large ice bin where you get the ice from(ice machine?)

The little ice bins in the front? We burn the ice with hot water, remove all the metal parts wash them in the dishwasher, get a cube of sanitizer and a bar rag. Dump the sani in the bin wipe it all down if it's needs a good scrubbing do it twice and then get another cube of cold water and rinse it out really good

thank you! we usually just pour hot water to melt it and clean the metal parts! I'm looking to find out how to clean the large ice bin (maybe I'm using the wrong term) the only where the ice is made! I think I've heard ppl call it the ice machine too but my store calls it both,,

At our store a separate cleaning company comes in to do it since it has so many delicate parts, we did once ourselves and broke it for two months... In the middle of summer no ice π. I think it's an ice maker?

Even if the other company cleans it we are still required to clean it once a month.

There is an ice machine cleaning manual on the partner hub that walks you through the steps very thoroughly. You just have to make sure you get the manual that is correct for your type of ice machine. It will say the model somewhere on the machine

Do you have clean plays? The ice maker should be cleaned once a month. Itβs in the Store Resources tab in the iPad. Find the ice machine you have and follow the step by step instructions from there.
