Tips and licensed starbucks (self.starbucksbaristas)

I worked at a B&N college Starbucks during this past school year, and they didn’t allow us to accept tips. Im applying to another B&N (not college) Starbucks for this summer/fall, I’m wondering are other licensed Starbucks generally allowed to accept tips? I need a job that will get me tips and so far other smaller coffee shops haven’t called me back !!

It depends on management because the target Starbucks I worker for we were able to get tips. I think it can be a little confusing for customers. I one time had lady say “oh I wish I could tip you” which of course was I responded “oh thank you we do appreciate tips”

It might depend on the store manager. When I worked at BN, we could accept tips but we couldn't put out a tip jar or anything. They had some weird/dumb justification but all we cared about was that people thought we couldn't accept them.

Some licensed Stores are allowed to accept tips. The one in the mall that I work at accepts tips. But Target Starbucks and B&N generally speaking don’t. I think it depends on management, I don’t know for sure.
