On mobile bar today and people would not quit pulling my tickets to find cafe orders.
**Quit pulling my tickets to find cafe orders.**

You're sending mobile order people and delivery people into the store too early because when you pull the tickets it tells them their drink is in progress when it is not. Then we have a hoard of people waiting on drinks that aren't even being made getting angrier and angrier.

Use the DPM or the register. You can force print the ticket you want. Thats what the iPad can do.

Do you know who the customers get mad at? Me. The person making mobiles cafe's and deliveries. Not my colleagues. I swear to christ. I am fast on mobile bar and delivery and cafes until people get in my way and think they are helping.
They are not.

Second thing:
Spatial awareness. Be aware of the people around you. Stop standing in the way.

My store is cafe/mobile. At bar, we have 2 printers...one for mobile/deliveries and one for cafe. But it still gets annoying when were slammed with mobile orders and im trying to do those at the same time as cafe orders but this one shift is ringing people up at the register and even if a customer orders a plain black coffee or a coffee with cream, she will grab the coffee for them but first she will come over and pull my Cafe stickers out of the cafe printer even though I haven't pulled out the cafe order stickers before the coffee one that she just rang up. So she will pull the cafe stickers before the coffee one and then she'll put those Cafe stickers on the counter or on the espresso machine and it just gets frustrating because she comes into my space and invades it and then she just stands there for a minute putting the sticker on the cup and just going very slow with it. It's like I don't need you to place stickers on the counter or the espresso machine because I'm slammed with drinks over here. Can you not remember what you just rang up? Cuz she's very good at grabbing coffee right after ringing up each customer that gets a coffee but sometimes I haven't pulled the stickers from the cafe printer that were placed before that coffee order so it just it's really frustrating when I'm trying to move quick and then she comes and stands in my way right in front of the printers

Yeah we have 3 bars. Cafe Mobile/Delivery and DT. We shut down DT bar way too early. They consolidate the cafe/mobile/delivery on my machine and put DT next to me. I can run two Mastrenas at once. I can even mark off drinks in DPM. But when I am having people pull my stickers for cafe...while I am trying to manage it myself--I wish people would stop because things get out of order and then a whole mob of people show up in the cafe with the cafe drinks and they are mad their drink is not ready because we decided that it was cool to lie to you and say your drink was in progress because we needed to see the cafe drinks like we don't already have two systems to print or view those tickets. 😬

They get mad at me.
Not the barista pulling all my tickets.
They make me look bad and like I can't do my job
I can if people will get out of my way and let me work.

Oh yea i definitely have that happen where some people pull my stickers for mobiles and then all of a sudden our store is packed with people like sardines or whatever in that one spongebob episode lmao. I have a smallish store so it makes it worse. Since im at a cafe/mobile store only, we have one hot bar (2 espresso machines) and one cold bar. Im usually put on hot bar which is what my store calls main bar and i hate when my stickers get pulled...and my store doesnt even use the DPM 🙄. I dont wana come off as hostile but i wana tell them to stop pulling my stickers and use the DPM if they wana force print a ticket cuz im handling bar and im trying to do it neatly and orderly and i have a whole system going but they just dont respect that

There is no telling my coworkers *anything* without coming off as hostile. Thats whats even more frustrating anything I say to them in their head can translate as hostility.

Same at my store. Theres this girl thats been there less than a year. She normally works evening/closing shifts where they dont really have planted stations (at least at my store). So one time she comes and does a morning shift on a day that im working. I was on bar. When she came in, no customers were in the store at that moment. But the shift was doing something in the back. Anyway this coworker of mine clocks in. She comes rite over to bar where all i literally had was 2 mobile order drinks. One of the drinks was on the one espresso machine and the other drink was on the other machine. She comes rite over to bar and stands in front of the one drink waiting for the shots to finish pulling in the iced venti latte. I nicely tell her "hey i dont need any help rite now. I really appreciate it but its so slow. Did u ask *shift supervisor* where she wants u at?" And then she goes "oh ill just ask them wen they come back out to the front here".....then im like "i dont need help rite now but ill definitely ask u if i do" and she puts her hands up and goes "oookaay" ....like that wasnt anywhere close to aggressive. Is she really that offended? Check in with the shift to let them kno ur here and clocked in cuz they might have a specific task that they need you to do.

Have you told the shift that you don’t like your stickers being pulled and to let the others know not to pull your stickers while you are on bar position? I’m a shift and I’ve had baristas not respect each other’s request regarding work flow. If I see it it action or a partner talked to me about it I made it a part of my expectation for that partner in that position, as long as it’s not something that’s outside or goes against standard I’m

I fondly remember the days when my store had 3 bars *pauses for a moment of silence*
Our mobils are so high that we had to have our right bar/sticker machine be mobil only because of the exact issue you are talking about. This was before the DPM was a thing. Our right bar is still considered mobil/lobby for production however. We’ve learned to communicate as a bar team to ask the right bar person how they would like their stickers/orders to be queued; on the cup or on the hopper? Reg person takes care of drip coffee unless there is something other than sugars and cream in it. We utilize that “don’t make” button. There are times during peak or other rushes where drive thru bar helps out with making cafe drinks. It took a while and a lot of frustration to realize that constant communication is key, that everyone likes and works their flow in a different manner, and spatial boundaries are a matter of respect as well.

It would just be easier (in my opinion) to add a different cafe printer instead of argue about it. An extra printer probably costs less than drama.

We thought so as well. When we initially got the printers my then SM decided that the “mobil” station would be by the brew station. Turns out to move/add or rewire locations for these printers cost thousands.
