I just want to start off by saying that I absolutely love my store and literally everyone there. It is a new store it’s been open less than two months. The only problem is the store manager. She has apparently worked for Starbucks for 14 years and I just do not see how.

I am not the only partner, even supervisors , have put in complaints to the assistant store manager. I just do not feel like anything is getting done and that’s why I’m coming to Reddit.

Our store manager has to be the rudest person I have truly ever met. She talks to everyone like they are stupid, degrades anyone who is still learning. I recently witnessed a incident with her and a supervisor. Store manager was literally yelling at the supervisor, asking her why she is so slow, can’t concentrate, can’t stay on task. And then went into asking very rudely how supervisor stays on task at home and how her home is clean if she can’t even clean the store. The supervisor is the sweetest woman I’ve ever met, everyone is new to Starbucks. We are all still learning. But this happened as soon as supervisor walked into the store.

I personally have had many issues with my supervisor as well. She degrades me when drive times are above 45 seconds. If I am dto/dtr by myself I do find it very hard to keep up a good pace. I feel like she cannot solely be upset with me because sometimes I’m still waiting on food or a drink. But I do not think that is an excuse to be rude to anybody. Because like I said we are literally all new. I have communicated with her multiple times about how she talks to me. I don’t know how to give a good clear example. I am considering going to my DM.

There was another incident two days ago and that’s what’s driving me to do this post. Is there a supervisor was telling me that store manager was joking about how she talks to some partners rudely. Why would anybody joke about that? I find that very disgusting.
Also store manager has the worst hygiene I’ve ever seen in a person. If she’s making a drink I swear to God her dandruff could fall into the coffee which is more concerning than drive times, or me being slow on cold bar.

I know this post is kind of a mess. I’m just not great at putting what is going on in to a clear discussion. If anybody has any questions, that usually helps me describe what’s going on better.

Just wanted to add that in two months we have had eight partners quit, solely due to store manager.

Hi, I think if you are up for it, speak to your district manager. They usually leave their business card at your store by the (old) condiments bar, now probably just a napkin bar. If you want to remain anonymous, create an email account just so you can do that, and email your area director/ district manager. But carefully type out what you are trying to say, and try not to put too much emotional rants in there. Outline the areas of concern, issues, instances. Mention the people quitting, hygiene, etc. Most likely there is something going on within the SM’s life that has got her into the way she is. Perhaps she can be sorted out with some kind guidance from her superiors, but if it is just a really bad personality for, then they will make their adjustments. Try your best to be objective when writing the email, and hope it works out for the best. But at least you will have done your part in communicating something that sounds like it should be addressed.

All those she has been rude and unprofessional with should reach out to the DM. If the DM doesn’t address it or you don’t see a change of behavior use the ethic and compliance hot line. Starting today everyone should document everything. Write down dates/times and what was said and done. She’s gotten away with it for years if she is like that openly and with everyone.
