You won’t be rehirable if you can’t finish your last two weeks.

Won’t be able to make it to my last shifts anyways. It is what it is. Can’t be in two places at once

A 2 week notice is there to be the middle ground between giving your manager(s) enough time to find a replacement for your leaving so they’re not unexpectedly short staffed while giving you the peace of mind of not being tied to your employer. Respect is a two-way street, after all.

With that being said, life happens. If you genuinely cannot work your final two weeks, then regardless of your two week notice you weren’t going to work those shifts anyways, right? So they kinda makes this a moot point.

Do what you need to do.

respect isnt given at starbucks tho ive watched ppl get separated for having too many late clock ins... no notice but oh yeah they let you work that busy short staffed shift before they fired you lol

It’s not required at all, it’s only a courtesy. You can just resign and let them know you’re not coming in for your remaining shifts.

I was marked non rehirable for doing this, but was told that status only really “means” something for six months. I was told by another store manager in friendly chat that she’d hire me simply because of my experience. It’s not like you’re stealing or terrible at your job. You have an emergency that needs tending to.

It’s just a label and a suggestion. If it matters to you to want to go back, they need people anyway and won’t care. If you’re not wanting to go back to the Bux, none of this matters. You come first. Always.

When I quit my retail job for Starbucks I just left a note that said I quit and left on my lunch (granted, they were homophobic and transphobic so they didn’t deserve a two weeks) but finishing up your two weeks is just a courtesy

Yall talking about rehire able thats a suggestion the company can do whatever they want and 9/10 of us are not rehire able but its for attendance (being 3-5 min late could even make it this way) or call outs the managers will still hire you if it means you can work and they dont need to give you too much training
