Does anyone happen to know how jobs are posted? Longer Q in comments (self.starbucksbaristas)

My SM and I have been discussing my next steps in development with the company. I love my store, but there’s another store in our district that has an immediate need for a shift, and SM thinks I’d get the job no problem if I wanted it. There won’t be an open shift position at my store for the foreseeable future (SM says). We also discussed the possibility of applying for a store closer to my house, if I’m not going to be at MY store, why not pick one closer to my house (I live about 25 min away).
I was browsing open positions online and happened to see MY store… so is my SM lying to me and trying to get rid of me? Or are you able to apply for any position at any time?

Store level positions are generally open at all times, whether that store is actively looking or not is a different story, if you see the position posted recently other places other than the Starbucks recruiting site then it’s more likely that they are looking
