Keep the Training tag as long as possible lmao, also the register is great for double checking recipes quickly

In your downtime if you aren't strong on bar, USE! QUIZLET!! other than that depending on your store, make sure to strengthen your strengths as well as your weaknesses. If oven is a strength do oven as best you can while practicing and familiarizing yourself with hot bar or cold bar

Don't be afraid to tell people you're new. It helps to diffuse tension and in my experience allows for some extra patience. Also, focus on quality over quantity. Speed comes with practice. Just make sure you're making good quality, to standard drinks. The speed will come later.

my favorite thing one of my ssv’s told me “at the end of the day. it’s just coffee. if people really need to be mad about coffee and a wait time, they have bigger stuff going on. just remember to breathe.”

Take your time, really commit the shots/pumps numbers to memory. Depending on how fast of a learner you are, it will eventually become muscle memory. Also, if someone(manager, coworkers, those who have been there for a while) rightly corrects you, listen because they’re most likely just trying to help you learn. Mistakes happen, don’t be too hard on yourself but I’ve had my share of defensive trainees, they took so much longer to learn because they didn’t want to listen. But good luck, don’t be too hard on yourself(!!!!) and remember that sometimes customers suck and it’s not your fault.

Take your time, don't let yourself get stressed out about being fast or drive times or anything like that, you are getting paid by the hour at the end of the day. Just try to do what you can to not drain yourself and remember it's only coffee, if customers are impatient or rude try to not let it bother you, them being pissy is not your problem.

The learning curve for this job is brutal, but once you’ve got it you’re golden. Study what you can and ask your trainer questions no matter if you think they’re dumb or you feel like you needed to know it already. They are there to help you. I suggest downloading the app and looking through the recipes that way if you want to study at home (so that they’re always up to date) At the end of the day, it’s just beans, water, and sugar. People get real mad, yes, but don’t let it ruin your day. Just fix what you can and move on.

Not everyone feels this way OP some of us enjoy the job. Don't listen to all the nay sayers and just trust your gut.

or lets be honest with OP and let them know to run before its too late if you enjoy starbucks theres plenty of employers who actually treat their employees well if you can tolerate workplace exploitation the companies that treat us well will blow you away
