then you run out of sidewalk space and finally after a long day it’s time to clock out. happy every after.

Youd think a multi million dollar company would be able to make sure each store has enough cups and lids sent to them regularly like 💀
udderlymoovelous13 points1y ago
For real! We've been good on cold cups, but my store has been out of tall hot cups and dangerously low on grande hot cups for like 4-5 days now
Radiant-Contact170665 points1y ago
at this point i would like to think we would close 😭
tras529 [OP]82 points1y ago
Ugh not to mention we were out of strawberry açaí, cold brew and mocha as well I don’t know how or why we stayed open
Aliciarox1118916 points1y ago
We ran out of all refresher, cold brew, lemonade plus strawberry puree and still stayed open with mobiles on
iiiimagery4 points1y ago
We kept mobiles on without venti cups
buzzy900011 points1y ago
We've stayed open with 1 1/2 working coffee machines 🙄
pinkraisin61 points1y ago
The question is, how did you even lid this one? 😂
tras529 [OP]87 points1y ago
The health inspector would not be happy with my answer 😬
CheyenneJudith19 points1y ago
👁👁
sapphic-slut6 points1y ago
Wait now I really need to know!!!
tras529 [OP]12 points1y ago
Lolol I just didn’t put a lid on it
MonstrousGiggling54 points1y ago
Multibillion dollar company cant supply their workers with the most basic item for drinks. Pathetic.
Rainbowcorgi224423 points1y ago
At my store we ran out of grande/venti ice lids along with peach and lemonade
Torirock1017 points1y ago
i got some sweet cream in a hot cup to take home the other day and the cup got so soggy and gross 😭 it started absorbing the cream
ThankfulWonderful37 points1y ago
Yes/ there’s a thin plastic liner on the inside of the hot cups that is reactive to temperature. With hot liquids - it hardens over time. Which makes sense because sturdy container for piping hot beverage makes sense. With being exposed to cold liquids [without first being exposed to hot liquids though]- which is not the intended use of the cup- the liner doesn’t activate and the cup softens and gets really papery. Fun fact !
Torirock1014 points1y ago
ngl our hot cups suck though :/ they r awful at retaining temperature and even with a sleeve they’re still hot asf
uncomfortableaf0087 points1y ago
that’s prob on purpose so more people will buy the reusable ones :| gotta love capitalism
Torirock104 points1y ago
gas stations have better cups than us :P they don’t even need a sleeve
Torirock103 points1y ago
yeah it was hell. i just put it in there vs a plastic cup so they wouldn’t judge how much cream i put.
krym32zamoon15 points1y ago
But you can't? Because of health and safety rules saying you need to lid drinks before handing them off? Oh how we've fallen
tras529 [OP]23 points1y ago
It was an absolute free for all at this point. I started making grande drinks in vente cups for the extra room after this.
Detantevandaisy3 points1y ago
You do whipped cream and all in the cup. They have been doing this in France for over a year. Complete scam but no more plastic
drinkliquidclocks13 points1y ago
What? Lmao have you never had a drink from a mug or regular cup in a restaurant? This comment is crazy
canidieyet_6 points1y ago
not to mention some stores banned lids…you have to ask for one when you order lol
krym32zamoon-7 points1y ago
Have you never worked in many coffee places before? Me and multiple partners have an they've always told us to make sure we lid drinks before handing them off. It's a different expectation to do to go drinks rather than a sit down at a restaurant and have a drink. I'm not crazy you're just too stupid to realize common sense. You think companies want to risk law suits of us handing off extra hot drinks uncapped so the customer can run off and burn themselves with it and spill it all over their car and come back and complain to us on how it's all our fault? They already try and do that but as long as we cover our bases and do all we can do that's it and not asking for trouble. Same with the iced drinks. People spill drinks with caps on and I'd love to limit that for us and for them. If they spill then product is wasted and we need to spend time and a person to clean it up ans then remake and also probably provide a recovery card. All that when maybe we could have tried our best to avoid it with a lid.
drinkliquidclocks6 points1y ago
Bro it is a cold drink
spoopy_ruby10 points1y ago
To be fair, in Canada we didn’t lid cafe drinks at all until COVID, I’m sad now cause no one gets to see my pretty drinks 😔😓 but also if I’m really proud of it I’ll deadass call the customer over to look at my amazing work before putting the lid on 😏
Beautiful-Director7 points1y ago
Where are those rules stated? We have people who request no lids frequently
ryguy69666-3 points1y ago
You’re supposed to tell the customer that due to health and safety regulations you have to lid all hot beverages.
Beautiful-Director10 points1y ago
Thats not a hot beverage though?
0x52and1x522 points1y ago
There are definitely no health and safety rules saying you can’t.
Detantevandaisy2 points1y ago
They are there. I have read the manual about 3 weeks ago because I became a trainer and it says that you MUST always put a lid on a drink (unless they specifically ask because ‘always say yes’ and if they burn themselves that is still our fault!🥰), and also that you cannot hand a drink to a customer. You have to put it down on the counter and then give it to them, not mid air. 🥲
creepilincolnbot8 points1y ago
War going on, covid, energy crisis, food shortages, inflation - and people worried about their ice coffee
Zestyclose-Earth-6754 points1y ago
my store was out of mocha, white mocha, strawberry acai, dragonfruit inlucsions, lemonade, cold brew, vanilla and sugar free vanilla syrup, and venti iced cups😭
[deleted]2 points1y ago

molwalk3 points1y ago
Been there. My store could run out of coffee and milk and still stay open istg
FitnessBinge3 points1y ago
I’m working in France and there is no plastic cups (to save the planet) every drinks are made in « hot cups »
tras529 [OP]2 points1y ago
Wow I didn’t know that I love that!
Detantevandaisy2 points1y ago
I was just gonna say! In France the cup and the lid are made of the same material! No more plastic, besides that layer on the inside!
TheGoldBlaster6nine2 points1y ago
Haven’t done that yet, (thankfully) but I can only Imagine what would happen if a surprise inspector would have came by 🙃
Packitphagget78632 points1y ago
