I'm a green bean and got hired as an SSV. Did 2wks barista training, then shift, at a different store. I miss them & their phenomenal SM indubitably.
I already feel burnout after a little under three weeks at the store I was hired to work out... the environment is miserable. Understaffed. No room for growth. Not well managed because there is such a small number of us, and only 2-3 are fully invested.
The Howie video was just the fuel to my first day disappointment fire. And because I am so new, I am supposed to tough it out another 6 months and get approval from my current SM before I can transfer.

My question is, how do we encourage our other partners to petition and vote yes?! Because they are apathetic about all things.

If management is bad it’s gonna be bad unionized or not unionized.

except for the part where we get to actually negotiate our working conditions and have a representative when dealing with uncooperative management.
