Cs rant (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Technical_Spot_9011
Everytime I go on cs the dishes that are cleaned and put away are always disorganized and not put away in their correct spots. I connected with one of my shift supervisors about this issue and she agreed. We came up with the idea to put a note above the dishes stating “please put your dishes away neatly and correctly. Thank you <3 :)”. We didn’t see this as being an issue because there are multiple notes up around the store reminding partners to do certain things. The note was then taken down twice, leaving me and my shift feeling disrespected. I was then told that my sm thinks that the note is disrespectful (not sure if that is true yet). Anyways, am I in the wrong? I don’t know what to do.

I feel the same way. I constantly have to go back and put things away in their correct spot and haven't thought of a sign because I expect to get pushback on it so I just wind up organizing everything over and over again.

I try to show people my system and hope they'll remember it but no one really ever does.

I understand how you feel and I am glad you have your shift on your side

I’m sure it’s because of lack of training and acknowledgement from your SM

If she doesn’t seem to mind nobody else will care either

I agree with this. From what I’ve seen the last couple of times in my store, they explain the job of the dishes process but forget the last part of air drying and then
putting dishes away. To be fair most of the time dishes stay in the Hobart until we need to use them or we need to do more dishes.

Maybe it’s just me, but that seems like a pretty minor thing.😅 I’m sure it can be annoying to have stuff put in the wrong spot, but the note to me seems a bit passive aggressive. As long as they aren’t placing stuff in a way that causes it to fall off the shelf, it’s not a big deal.

Newer partners and experienced ones put stuff in the wrong spots all the time at my store and I’ve never had a big issue with re-organizing it all the time. In all honesty, we can all get pretty busy so maybe that’s why I don’t mind. I’d rather dishes get messily put away then have multiple sinks full of dishes because people didn’t have the time to wash and neatly put stuff away. They’re making an effort to assist with dishes, and actually helping out. Maybe try to view it in a more positive light.

They are put away though with a risk of falling. We have a very small area for dishes compared to most so when you go to do restock or small wears you have to move everything if it is not organized and it is a hassle. I just think it takes 2 seconds to put something in the correct spot so it can make other peoples job easier.
