Clinical diagnosis through lyra?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by sliceofemo
I am finally able to enroll for benefits and chose the silver plan for medical, and based on criteria every session with a therapist would be a $30 copay.
Now I don’t know if this is a stupid question, but can I get a clinical diagnosis if I have therapy sessions through lyra? I need one because I want to start hrt and get top surgery at some point and they’d be covered by insurance if I have a gender dysphoria diagnosis.

It would depend on the therapist. If you were able to find a psychologist on Lyra offering therapy, yes. But most therapists don't have the degree required to give any sort of diagnosis.

So if i did hypothetically find a psychologist on lyra they can give me an actual medical diagnosis or give written consent?

I mean, I can't say for sure, itd probably also depend on the psychologist. But psychologists in general are able to give diagnoses.
