when y’all brew coffee, and it’s 1 scoop for a quarter, two for a half, four for a full, what size scoop do you use? like, how many ounces? we have one (4 oz?) scoop at my licensed store and i’m not sure if i should order a different sized scoop.

Black for dark and pike, blue for blonde. Not sure how big they are but as far as the scoops, that’s what they are

Wait… different color for blonde?? I was never told this. I always wondered why we had 2 different colored scoops!!

A lot of partners at my store don’t know this either, it’s just rough training most of the time at my store I think. But yes they’re right, the blue scoop is for blonde, I tried to get the word out to partners about it at my store today and you should do the sale at yours 😂

No that’s probably right. I think I was trained wrong. I was told one scoop for the batch but I was solely trained at night. RIP everyone who got my watery ass pike when I worked mid 😭

Later in the afternoons, my store will brew quarters only. Do u think that was the case at ur store when they solely trained u at night?

Yeah that’s probably right. One scoop for 1/4; 4 for a full makes so much sense idk why I didn’t question it 🥲

yeah at night we will do half batches at my store but usually it’s a quarter batch for slower stores

At one point during pandemic they were supposed to revamp the brewers to go back to 4 scoops for a full. I have no idea if my store had it done since then SM back then never said anything. So for now we are still doing 3 scoops of the scoop/ladle with the black handle. It holds more than 4oz.

is it 8 oz? new coworker who came from a stand-alone told me that we were brewing wrong because we use the wrong size scoop, and she said ours was 4 oz (it has a black handle though)

Honestly I don’t know how much it holds. But I do know it holds more than half of a short cup. I’ll try to find a pic and post it.
