I have a few questions, for mental health reason I submitted a claim after talking to my sm. For two weeks, should be starting this week as long as everything works out. Does you discount still work? Has anyone been retaliated against for taking one? And do I have to find my own coverage, and if I don’t/no one will take it what will happen?

Your bean mark out and discount still work. You don’t find coverage for the shift that you were scheduled but then got the LOA approved for.
I took a personal LOA for two weeks but after one I ended it early. I was not retaliated against, in fact I was asked multiple times if I was sure I wanted to go back early. I have not come across anyone who has been retaliated against for taking one. I saw partners get snarky when LOA partner came in for drinks but when the snarky partner was told it wasn’t a call out but an LOA, their attitude changed completely.

Thank you, I appreciate it! Like a lot, it hasn’t gotten approved yet and I’m scared it won’t due to short notice. I usually go in with my mom on my days off, so… I guess we will see

You’re so welcome! I took my LOA about 4 years ago and it was suddenly. From the time I submitted my paperwork to my DM until I got the official email saying it was approved was about two days. Those two days I checked my email inbox like every hour so I totally understand the anxiety not knowing if you have to work another day when you just can’t mentally.
