interview to become a shift- advice ? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by AppointmentWorth9907
i recently applied to become a shift at my store. i’ve been working here for a year now and overall am very well rounded and knowledgeable.

what type of things will i be asked in the interview? what should i expect? how much of a difference in pay is there ? i heard the questions are generally the same, but i just want to get a feel of different questions that people have been asked so i’m all around prepared.

thank you in advance :) <3

There was lots of situational questions in my interview. I would come with 3-4 stories in mind that show yourself off.
For example like “Tell me a time when you had to deal with a difficult customer, how was the situation resolved?” or another question they asked me was “Tell me about a time that you connected with a customer?”
I would focus on stories you will be telling that would answer multiple of those questions. Creating a good environment for customers. And any ideas you may have for the store. It’ll show you have the store’s needs in mind.

This is all accurate. I was promoted to ssv about 5-6 weeks ago and having real examples of times I stepped up was very helpful. I also talked about the ways I’d work well with the current ssvs and how my strengths could fill gaps we currently had. I was also already a trainer so I had good examples of coaching, making the moment right, and how to be versatile and work well under pressure.

What does a shift do in a day? What do you think is most important when it comes to making a customers order? Why is it important to have connects? Questions like that.

for you personally, just because i know what a shift does but i have trouble naming the tasks, what does your day look like usually ? task wise.
