Have you ever berated your brew timer for beeping at you? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Everybody at my kiosk does it because we never have time to brew stuff between the never-ending line of workers and the infinite amount of dishes. Sometimes we tell it to “calm down“ and other times we call it “dramatic”. I was convinced it was normal because I saw my co-workers doing it but I wanna know if it’s just unique to where I work.

I do this at warming! I’ll be waving the tongs around waiting for the timer go off and then when it does I’m like “alright I’m coming”.

Sometimes if warming is super busy and I’m like rushing around and an oven goes off I’ll point the tongs at it and tell it to “shut up” (in a whisper). It’s just fun.

I do all the time. Usually I go for "calm down" or "stop yelling", but tbh I do it most times I turn off timers 😂

when I’m setting up the display case during opening and have to cook the sandwiches, i’ll call the oven an attention whore. ONLY when we’re opening, to ensure no customers hear lmao

Yes! Like " Ok we get it you're ready. You can stop now." Or "Yeah, yeah, yeah , goodness you're so needy." I even tell the ovens off sometimes. " I hear you I hear you. Give me a second"
