* was* you're a customer now hun. These rallies are for the workers, not for yall. Try dunkin if u want some coffee
seattle-random 0 points 1y ago
There would be no need for workers if there were no customers.

Also consider that most stores are not voting for unions unanimously. A not insignificant number of partners are voting against the unions. So it's not really for ALL the workers either.

regardless of how workers vote in elections, the union will still be there to represent their interests and fight for them once it’s been established

If the store is all in the same boat, whatever. You’re last sentence seems so harsh for no reason? Might not be yours? So what you inconvenience some people by not being able to get some coffee, let’s be real, they’re sugar. But it’s corporate who’s then losing out on the money
TheatreAS -7 points 1y ago
Literally the vast majority of the Starbucks in my town are closed to rally for the union. And what about the people who just wanted a regular coffee and maybe a bite to eat? Idk, I guess it's the partners who are losing money by choosing to close their whole district.
tan_ger_in3 3 points 1y ago
Yes, they are losing money for a short period of time. Rallying towards unionization is about securing more money and better working conditions for partners in the long run.

You can thank unions for our recent wage increases. Do you really think Starbucks would give us a raise if it weren't for the growing unionization efforts?

If other people who are MAKING money lose out, then yeah. But if it’s everyone then I like it
Mx0rion 6 points 1y ago
i'm sure if they are shutting down their stores for it then it's probably pretty important to them, it's kinda silly that you are comparing the massive inconvenience of having to get coffee somewhere else to what's going on with those stores lol

bruh op is on some Karen level shit right here 🫣

“it’s so inconvenient for ME, when a stores close because THEY want better PAY WAGES and BENEFITS.”

“how dare they close their store and not service ME, especially when they’re SHORT STAFFED”

“im annoyed because these workers want BETTER benefits, and it’s affecting MY convenience.”

hun do yourself a favor, go get a bag of coffee and make it at home. quicker, cheaper, and sustainable. you want convenience? have better time management or try another fast food place.

I would be mad if a bunch of people decided to shut my store down.
I gotta make money.
