Brown sugar and toasted vanilla syrups have only half pumps on bar. If someone gets a drink that gets full pumps normally but they request these syrups do you double pumps to make full or just do half pumps?

yep! the customer doesnt understand the use of half pumps so I only actually do half when its a drink that requires it like a shaken espresso. otherwise I double it to give them the standard level of sweetness. if you dont double it its just gonna be inconsistent levels of sweetness. if we wouldnt do half pumps of vanilla in a regular latte, why would we do half of the brown sugar?

This too is a debate at my store as well. Most of us use this logic but there are some that don’t agree.

To compound this, the regular SE gets half dose pumps of Classic while iced coffee gets full dose pumps.

Cold brew recipes also gets half dose pumps of vanilla (or 1,2,3 full dose), when other drinks get full dose pumps.

Fraps also get half dose pumps, so my store views the amount of syrup as drink dependent rather than pump size depenent.

Not to mention if you make a latte with half dose pumps the flavor quality doesn't match those made with a full dose pump.

My store goes over this specifically in cold beverage training checks since its confusing as heck

i’ve been told that’s just what the serving size of a pump is in those specific syrups so i never double
