to give more clarification: half our closing crew are high schoolers who are legally unable to work past a certain time, meaning the rest of us have to work the actual close except.... most of us are college students who also can't work these hours because of class. we're also in a very unsafe area meaning the extended hours are a risk to us as workers coming in or leaving. her not warning us of these changes before putting it into a schedule means we're stuck losing hours we need or working shifts we're not available to do. none of us had our availability that locked down because we didn't think we needed to do because the store hours we were hired to work were within our avilability but now it's not.

You just said you were scheduled 2 weeks out with the updated operating hours so…I’m missing the part where you weren’t told. The way you word it makes it sound like y’all show up for your 5am shift to learn the store isn’t opening til 7. How much more than 2 weeks notice do you need lol

maybe a verbal thing telling us bc a lot of us cant work those changed hours and are being told we can either give up the whole shift and lose hours or work hours we arent able to?

Why is your availability not accurate to the hours you can actually work?
diotheleo 1 points 1y ago
because we're college kids and it changes every semester/session and we were hired with the idea that the store wasn't going to suddenly extend the hours by 2 hours with no warning in the middle of the semestsr

So you neglect to update your availability at the change of semester?
