Interview Questions/Answers (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by The_Orca
Hello.

I have been selected for an interview, wanted to know what I should study for the interview? What type of questions should I expect to be asked in the interview?

If anyone here remembers any questions asked of them in their own interviews please share them so that I can be better prepared.

Thanks.

EDIT: I do not have any work experience. This will be my 5th interview overall. Due to population issues in my country, job openings are not a lot and I have never held any kind of job before. Answers from similar prespectives as mine would help a lot.

How do you handle stress, tell me about a time you got to know a customer, what do you know about the origins of the company/why do you want to work for us

Thanks for replying,

Can you elaborate on the "tell me about a time you got to know a customer"?

I have edited my post clarifying that i have never gotten a job as this will be my 5th interview overall.

Starbucks really wants you to make small talk with customers like asking about their day. They also want you to remember regulars, their names and their drink orders. It's all about the "customer connection". For example, when I was asked this question I talked about a customer who would come into my work frequently who was a college student. I would ask him about his classes and tests, etc.

If asked this question, you could just say "I have no prior work experience so I can't personally speak to this, but hypothetically this is what I would say/do"
