You always get SSV pay regardless of whether you’re scheduled for “Keyholder” or or just plain “coverage.”
As for how frequently you are a “Keyholder”…that depends on:
1: how many SSVs your store has
2: your store’s hours of operation
If your store has a lot of SSVs and a short hours of operation, you’re probably not going to be scheduled as a “Keyholder” all that frequently.
Just a reminder though, that designation is meaningless. It’s written on the DCR because there has to be at least one Keyholder on schedule, and any person who has access to the safe/store key is a Keyholder (SSV, ASM, SM).
What you’re talking about is “play caller” and the play caller is the person who actually directs partners throughout the shift.

I’d just talk to your SM about scheduling you as the play caller more frequently since your peers aren’t willing to let you do that all else being equal.

At my store it’s the opposite lol. I’m running the floor every single shift at some point. The only time I’m not is when I’m scheduled a 6am start shift or something, but even then I’ll be taking over after the morning rush. Usually I’ll get one hour or so sometimes where someone else is playcaller, but I’m still considered the “second shift” and will be helping with shift stuff, and going back and forth with the playcaller about the schedule. We all communicate with each other about stuff like “oh hey let’s do a trash run soon” “let’s run a ten while it’s quiet” or something among those lines.
If anything, I miss being on barista positions like bar. If I could do solely barista stuff for a week I would love to, I miss getting to connect with customers sometimes. Also, I miss getting to take 10s. I end up skipping them since I’m busy as the playcaller all the time.

we have 7 shifts at my store, 2 of each day part and one in training. my fellow closing shift always wants a day off and trades shifts and gives them away so they rarely get to be the closing keyholder. the last couple weeks i have worked 6 days a week bc of vacations & i have been the closing keyholder each time. it just depends on your store

I work 5 days a week and am the shift for 4 of them. On occasion I’m the shift for all 5 but I have been getting a Saturday morning barista shift here and there and it’s so nice to not have to worry about everything at all times

My store has 5 shifts, I usually get between 2-3 keyholding shifts a week. I have one close a week (my bucket is ops so I have to run the clean play) and at least one opening. I occasionally get a mid shift coverage if the opener and closer don't overlap, but doesn't happen a lot.
