I've been at starbucks for around 3 months and the think that sticks out about my onboarding is the connections with the other baristas. Im a psych person (i like to study it) and so i knew that agreeing when other baristas are annoyed and laughing at their jokes will make you friends that will be empathetic with you later. be confident. ask for help. when you need it.

Also Literally ask anyone a question they want to help I asked so many questions my first 2 months and now I’m pretty good on my own!

I love the job! I learned a lot by using flash cards on quizlet there’s a bunch of pre made sets! Or use the Starbucks app and look the recipes for shots/syrup and what goes in everything like Frappuccino’s! I personally think those are the hardest to remember at first but you’ll get the hang of it quickly using the flash cards!

Go easy on yourself! There’s a lot to learn and don’t stress about how good/bad you are. Everyone goes at their own pace and it takes months to be fully confident in your abilities. Lastly, ask questions when you need to. Your team is there to support you!

There are no stupid questions! Ask as many questions as you need to, as many times as you need to. When you finally start training on bar, have fun and don’t be harsh on yourself. You’ll get it :)
