Want to give my notice (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ThrashPanda67
I want to give my notice and I already have another job lined up to start in 2 weeks. My worry is that my SM will just take me off the schedule entirely once I give my notice, and that will consequentally mean I am no longer eligible for EAP counselling sessions for the next two weeks. Is this a valid worry or will I still be able to access counselling during my last two weeks even if my shifts are taken away?

they can’t reduce your hours for putting in notice, it’s considered retaliation

Really? My last day was supposed to be next Friday but because I didn't go in for shift on Thursday (outside of my written availability and I told them in advance) my SM said he covered my shifts and processed my resignation.

so idk if any of y’all read the papers starbucks has you sign when you first start but in one of the papers it says because starbucks can fire you at any time without notice, you also have the option of quitting any time without notice. 2 weeks is simply a courtesy, not an obligation

If youre so worried about it just let them know the day of, 2 weeks is a courtesy and you arent obligated to give it

U don’t owe sbux anything. I say keep it to yourself to ensure you don’t experience retaliation.

It would be so inconvenient to have to find people to cover all of your shifts, it's not gonna happen
