Now I’m crying *inside* the post office :’)

Aww! I’m sure you’re doing a great job! It’s so strange when a comment hurts and you know inside that on a different day that same comment wouldn’t bother you but you’re having a hard day and it just makes you cry. Hang in there and don’t hold onto the hurt. You’re giving yourself a min to let the tears out and that’s ok. Then just get up, dust yourself off and move on. Tomorrow is a new day. ☀️😉

Malicious compliance is your friend. Follow everything exactly as it should, so when customers complain, you can honestly tell them “I’m following company protocol. If you want to let for opinion be heard, I’ll give you my DM’s contact info!” You will never be reprimanded for following the rules, so if following the rules makes wait times increase, so be it! After all, you’re staying in routine.

this is exactly what i do! i use this on my shifts more often than i do customers lol. i love it when a shift tells me to stop batch blending when i’ve got 15 fraps in queue. i blend them all separately like the rules say and then they get mad bc drive times are up. either our times are up or you’re going to pretend i didn’t just blend 4 tall vanilla bean frappuccinos :]

Maybe my district is lax but I’ve never been yelled at for batching 😅 we all just collectively say “don’t do this” while we’re doing it so at least newbies know not to do it in front of the DM lolol

It’s only coffee! Don’t let it ruin your day, it’s not worth it. We typically deal with over caffeinated co-workers and under caffeinated customers, Both who are not operating at their best emotional level. Add to that your new status and things may feel overwhelming. But at the end of the day just give your best and if it still feels like it’s draining you you might try a different job that doesn’t make you feel stressed out. And just from a staff who was a newbie, it does get better. You can ask not to be on DTR so often if you think your SM will let you move around a little bit. Best of luck, and you are doing your best, and that is enough for me !

You're a number to Starbucks and nothing else. Follow the standard and let your SSV deal with your SM whom will ultimately have to deal with DM. There is no reason to stress over this job as regardless how hard you try, you will never be appreciated and acknowledged by the upper management

If a shift isn’t right there, I’m doing it. I do it all standard except for the blending of it together and I still put effort into both drinks looking beautiful.

Start standing up for yourself. If management says, “This drink is taking too long,” respectfully reply with, “There are a lot of customizations on this and I am making it to standard to ensure customer satisfaction.” If they keep pressuring you, remind them that you are still relatively new and want to make sure you are making drinks to standard. They can’t get you if you follow the rules, so follow the rules in a way that decreases stress for you. Don’t take shit from nobody. Your mental health and physical well-being is more important than this job. You are doing fine and I promise it gets better. If you believe in things like veiling or crystals, I really recommend carrying protective crystals with you and veiling in place of a hat or visor. It really helps with dissipating emotional stress and letting things roll off your back imo

Wait… are we not allowed/supposed to blend frappuccino’s together? :0
