I don’t have any experience with this but I agree with you. Personally I would rather tell people the truth rather than let people assume and gossip behind my back. If you tell the truth there’s nothing for them to whisper about. Only tell them as much as you’re comfortable with. You can just say exactly what you said on the title, that you were getting out for addiction and you’re doing much better now. I think that’s a really brave thing to do and it’s also a way of protecting yourself from the inevitable barista gossip. I’m going through something similar, having some medical procedure, I told a couple people and then I noticed whispers started happening about me. So from now on I’m just gonna tell people what was going on with me so that they stop talking about me and making assumptions.
