Does it go on the frap before or after you whip? I’ve always been told it goes before, but this week a coworker was insistent that the process is whip, lid, then pour the shots through the frap-hole. What do you think?

After the whip, but, a word of advice, pour the frap up to the lower clear notch before the rim and leave a small empty channel around your whip for the shot to fill in but not overflow the cup.

Yes that’s exactly how I do it and train others to do it too.

It’s after. Affogato means on top. Also, it’s on the recipe card.

👍🏻 thank you

If you’re at a corporate store, you can check the recipe card: the shot goes on top of the whip. The way your coworker does it is the best way to avoid spills

Thanks!

When affogato was first introduced it was for a specific Frappuccino and the recipe called for the shot to be under the whip cream. As it became more popular it changed to being on top as standard for all.

I usually whip the frap in a way, to where i leave a little hole so that the shot goes in and it still looks beautiful, what can I say im goated

Affogato is an Italian dessert where whip cream is poured over gelato. So yes the espresso goes over the whip cream.
There is also an affogato style Frappuccino recipe card on partner hub
