Was stationed at the front door today to tell people cash and Starbucks card only as well as give estimated wait times

i told a lady we were only accepting cash and she told me “that’s fine! i was planning to pay with cash anyway” and then handed me a debit card…then proceed to yell at me because she didn’t carry cash ???? people are weird, man

My store still accepted cards but we warned everyone that the times would be much longer because it would take anywhere from 1-3 minutes for the chip cards to process (but tap to pay still worked flawlessly?!). Surprisingly no customer complaints so far

we closed the lobby and turned off mobile orders i was so over it

I have never seen our cafe so busy in the year that I have worked here. We were busy my entire 8-1 shift and I have to say, being on bar 2, every cafe/mobile customer was great today. Drive through was a different story. We had people expecting their drinks to be comped bc our card reader was down.🤷🏻‍♀️

We told people at the speaker we were taking cards and we’re doing cash only/Starbucks card only. This lady says it’s fine and drives up to the window with a debit card. Then gets mad bc she can’t use it and she doesn’t have cash. I don’t understand why people think we’re telling them this for fun. Or they just don’t listen at the box and agree to whatever before ordering???

IT WAS A DAY🤦🏽‍♀️ I’m like ok, mobil was down yesterday, card reader today, our register 2 was offline for a week…is tomorrow the day we start the hunger games?!

during peak a lady came in and realized we weren’t taking card and then took like 10 minutes downloading the app and figuring out how to put money on there for her drinks 😭😭

I edited our sign (which was already on a yellow posterboard) to state no debit and no apple pay, because somehow stating cash and starbucks card/app and no credit cards didn't quite communicate the info well enough lol. The best was when I stated the info, asked the custy if that was ok and she said yes....she pulled up to the window with her credit card and app, asking us to load her app lmao 🤣
