i work in a store in missouri with 2 bathrooms. one of ours was broken and then yesterday the other broke too. both cannot be used at all. there’s a ticket in but no one can go to the bathroom for their 8 hour shift. is this legal in missouri? my stomach hurt so bad from holding in my pee for 5 hours today. all of my co workers asked me if it’s legal and i honestly don’t even know

It's a violation of OSHA requirements: https://www.osha.gov/restrooms-sanitation

You can leave the store to find a bathroom elsewhere. It is legally required

It’s in the partner handbook as well

Wowwwww. Is there at least a bathroom in walking distance? Either way it's not cool.

In addition to what others have said about OSHA, it is also most likely in violation of local heath ordnances and zoning requirements as well.

Yes u guys have to close or at least do drive thru only. This was an issue at my store once & we closed. The next day we did just drive thru but they allowed employees to go to gas station to use the bathroom. It’s unfair to both employees & customers.
