Recommendations for Migraines? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Latter-Guava-4734
Sometimes while on my shift (basically like today) I get awful migraines suddenly in the middle of my shift. Usually I just try to drink some water and if I feel one coming on before I leave for work I might take a pain reliever. However I also get them pretty frequently, so I try not to take meds for it more than twice a month so I don’t cause any more damage.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for drinks that might help in case I get a migraine in the middle of my shift. I would bring my meds with me and keep them in my bag or something, but I don’t really know if it’s allowed, so I just want to try to stick to food/drinks.

I keep a mini bottle of excedrine migraine in my purse and take it when needed. Also notify your shift and they can possibly flex the play if your current position is triggering your migraine (sometimes mine get aggravated by headset if it’s really bad ). Also a quick doppio on ice or something to get caffeine I. My system helps

Given the environment (silence and darkness being impossible), caffeine helps me a lot, in addition to taking pain reliever and drinking water. Coffee has more caffeine than tea, I believe, and sugar can be a trigger for headaches, so I personally would go for a basic cold brew or hot coffee, depending on preference. I don’t think there are rules against bringing medication to work with you, if it’s over the counter (Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Advil). If it’s a prescription medication, you should be able to bring it, but I would maybe bring the entire bottle so you have proof that it’s your own medication, if someone were to question it.
