does anyone else feel like their breaks are consistently forgotten/pushed back? because i feel like my shifts have been completely ignoring my breaks (i’m talking about 10s, not 30s) lately. as in i get my only ten an hour before i’m supposed to leave. or i have to pester about it. like, everyone else’s breaks will be a few minutes late and when i complain they’ll just brush it off saying “yeah it’s been a rough day”. i have been here for 4 hours, i’m well aware it’s been a bad day. but that doesn’t excuse my ten being 3 HOURS late. it’s either extremely late or it’s being given to me an hour after i clock in. it was so bad today between being overstimulated in dt, asshole customers, and just needing a breather that i threaten to walk out if i didn’t get my 10 immediately. i got my 10 45 MINUTES before i was off.

secondly, i am so very sick and tired of being shoved into drive thru. my shift will put me there, promise to not keep me there for too long, and then proceed to have me there for 3+ hours. even if i ask, it’s always “yeah when this person is back i’ll switch you guys” and then that person is put into another position. i’m a 2 year barista, i’m one of the fastest bar partners we have. but for some reason he’s putting green beans on bar during peak and me in drive (and then yelling at ME for drive times!!! as if i’m supposed to make a 3 week old barista move at the speed of light). i’m always either solo drive or solo bar.

today was honestly so bad my SM pulled me off the floor because i was so frustrated and she wanted to know what was going on. i told her about how my breaks are always delayed, how i’m put in one spot for hours at a time and have to beg to move, etc. and how other people at my store feel the same way. there’s a shift meeting tomorrow and she said she was going to mention it.
