What do I do when I have a shift scheduled already and a conflict? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by unepersonne6
Hi!

Very new partner here. I just received an offer to participate in an event on June 11 and 12, but my store manager has already scheduled me to work on those days. In cases like this, what do I do? Do I click "Offer shift", request the day off anyway, etc?

Thank you very much for any advice in advance!

In those cases, I would try really hard to find someone to cover those shifts as you are already scheduled. You would have to “request off” three weeks in advanced but in this case 1) try to get your shifts covered, 2) explain to you manager that you have an important event to attend on June 11 and 12 and say that you tried to find coverage but couldn’t

You can try to offer shift. Considering it’s graduation season you might not have much luck. It’s your responsibility to find coverage for those shifts. Ask your trainer if they know of anyone who normally is willing to pick up hours.

If you don’t show up you could get let go for it.
