Stupid question, when people ask for foam on things like coffee; how do we make that?😅(self.starbucksbaristas)

Do we steam the half and half? (I’m still getting used to being on bar but for whatever reason can never pick up on foam) 😭
What exactly is the foam?

Hm, if they are referring to hot coffee, you would have to clarify if they want a dairy option steamed. For almost two year, I haven’t heard of that request

Last weekend I had my first ever request for an “au lait” (it’s another term for misto) with “only foam, no liquid milk”. Then it hit me how surprising that I’ve only had this request once in my two decades of barista experience.

Some stores call it a trad misto, it’s the same

It’s French. I had worked two other coffee houses before Starbucks that used this term for what we call a misto. I literally had the same reaction you did to the word misto when I first started starbucks 😂😂😂

without context or an example I'm gonna assume it's the vanilla sweet cream foam tbh cuz people put that on EVERYTHING

😭 i would ring it up as VSCF my first few times on pos cause I didn’t realize there was just a “foam” option

I would ask for clarification if they wanted sweet cream foam or steamed milk foam
