Why can I taste/smell Stevia every time I open those packets? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Yes I wear a Kn95 while working. Doesn't matter tho, as soon as I open a packet for someone's coffee, it's in my sinuses. Does anyone else experience this?

Pro-top: Something I found that helped was contracting Covid, now I can’t smell or taste anything. (Your mileage may vary. Would not actually recommend. Maybe like 4/10)

Most sugar alternatives are actually not good for you at all and should only be consumed by people that medically cannot consume sugar, yet people think they are doing something healthy by having stevia or Splenda or SF Vanilla to go along with their extra caramel drizzle 😂

Interesting artificial sweetener thing. When it was first being introduced, my mom's husband worked for the shipping company that handled equal. One time, a container broke. That crap seeped through their skin because it was ao fine and affected anyone around in weird ways.

Back before it was officially released, they were shipping it, but not as a complete product. They were shipping the components separately to where the productwould be completed. At one point in time, one of the containers for aspartame broke open, and the particles were very fine. Anyone who was in that space basically absorbed it through their skin. Anyone who was affected was *super* happy. Not high, but abnormally happy. I think there were a few other random side effects, but I don't remember what they are.

It’s honestly a good realization on how small powder particles are. It’s also why so many people got sick from Covid. Masks are more to prevent an out-spread via sneezing, coughing, etc. but not so good at keeping particles from out-to-in. To fully protect yourself from powders of the siren, you’d need a full on gas mask with a perfectly fitted seal.
KN95 has an intake leakage of roughly 8% and exhale resistance of 250 Pa. Filtration performance is about 95%. If that helps.

It’s a running joke at my store. Because one of my old shift supervisors used to work at a Tarbucks as well as a Starbucks and one of his regulars at target used to ask for him to open a packet of Splenda next to the drink for the “essence of Splenda”
