Putting in my notice :)) (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Tsunami_Eels
Heyo!!! 320 here, started in September and I am already hanging up my apron. It’s been really nice with my store, absolutely love my morning crew and all they’ve done for me during my time here but I’m not able to survive off of 9 hours a week. I hand in my notice tomorrow and honestly? I’m pretty nervous about it.

With the job I had before the siren, I gave them my notice and it was the worst time I’ve ever experienced. My old coworkers there had made me feel awful and treated me so horribly for giving my notice I didn’t even finish the two weeks. I fear that’s how my fellow partners are going to be honestly, is there any words of encouragement anybody could spare to help me not feel awful for doing this?

Honestly, you’re doing what’s best for you. There’s no harm in helping yourself. If anyone else says otherwise or tries to threaten you. They are immediately in the wrong. They should honestly be encouraging you with your decisions and how you will move forward. Goodluck.

Thank you!! I just fully am terrified of their reactions and how they’ll act, especially with how many cliques are up there at my store.

cliques are temporary, as are jobs with no loyalty to its employees. you’re making the right decision in my eyes

Nine hours a week??? You should never feel bad for doing something good for yourself and your livelihood
If your crew are truly good people they will send you off with good words and cheer so i wouldnt worry trust your gut
Hope your next job is a good one!
