Upside down vs Stirred: Caramel macchiato edition (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MonsteraNSFW
I need to know, what is the actual official Starbuck standard? I personally stir the caramel drizzle with the espresso and vanilla until dissolved then pour milk over, and then ice when ordered "upside down". For "stirred" I mix espresso and milk but leave the drizzle on top. Some people make it the same way regardless of how it's ordered. What's the actual standard!?

we’ve been getting a lot of requests for caramel macchiatos “stirred” and idk why or where they’re hearing it from, anyways i always just make it upside because i’m sure that’s what they mean, what they mean

Upside is built literally upside down. Caramel drizzle, shots, ice, milk, vanilla. It’ll look layered. Stirred is when you build it like a latte.

If someone gets it stirred I usually make it upside down and swirl it to get the caramel into it. Otherwise just upside down gets it right on top still

I need someone to find the standard on the hub! There is no official answer!

I don't think they're the same, controversially. But only real difference is I'd put the drizzle on top of the Stirred one, but not the Upside Down one
