It’s confidential as in they’re not going to say your name but they are probably reaching out to those who worked with you to make sure they isolate/test/don’t have symptoms/etc or to get your shifts covered. you obviously feel differently but i didn’t care when other people knew I had COVID. rather have them know they worked w me while I was potentially sick and be able to mask up and test and such than not know. they’re also going to notice you’re out for multiple days and generally assume it was you once everyone knows someone in the store got COVID too lol. so it’s “anonymous” but it’s not rocket science to find out who it is

Context clues that anyone can deduce are not illegal. Manager isn’t telling them who got covid.

they're supposed to say what shift on what day so that partners that worked with you can get tested too, ur sm didnt say ur name but its easy to figure out

Honestly, my manager tells us who got COVID, but based on who is out and when we were exposed we usually figure out who it is.
