My manager claims I have to fill out a coffee passport before I can do coffee academy(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Blondeeeelatte
Basically the title. He told me I had to completely fill out the passport before I could start (seasonal coffees too I’m assuming, meaning it would take a year before I could start). But I started coffee academy from home today, and there was no mention of it. There also hasn’t been any new info in the barista weekly updates. Does anyone know the actual steps for me to get my black apron? Is he just confusing it with the old program? Thanks in advance!

I know the coffee passport was a prerequisite for the old program. Haven't heard about the new one.

That’s what I assumed. I’d ask him but he’s always moody and kinda rude and I don’t feel like starting an argument until I have all 5 certificates in hand.

I don’t think seasonal counts because they don’t always bring back every seasonal offering. Sometimes they just retire a usual seasonal coffee and replace it with something else.

In the coffee academy it says that you are supposed to be writing things down or at the very least using it. I am almost 100% sure the activity’s for tasting require you to write it in the passport so it should be during the coffee academy you are trying them. I don’t believe seasonal ones count for filling it out my sm said those were the seasonal bonus ones

Yeah, I know the activities have you do tastings, but he’s saying it should be 100% completed before starting any of the courses.
