New barista here, soo you need 6 hours for a 30 min break, if you work from 3:30pm to 9:45pm, would that mean you are entitled to a 30? A little bit lost (self.starbucksbaristas)

Yes you would get a 30 minute break, sometime before your 5th hour, since you're working more than 6 hours

Ohh okay, that’s perfect, thank you so much

You could always ask to leave early or come in 15 mins late if your shifts/sm are lenient and care at all

So if I make it at 3:45pm I still get a 30?

Yes.

You shouldn’t as long as you don’t go over 6

Once you hit 5 hours you meal break. Most people get their lunch at the 4th hour to give some leeway.

Oh I work 5 hours all the time and never get one at my store only if we go over 6. I get scheduled 5.75 hr shifts often solely so I don’t get a break

Keep in mind your 30 minute break is unpaid. So if your schedules for a 6 hour shift, you’ll earn less money than if you were scheduled for 5.75 hours

I am totally fine with it, but thank you for pointing that out

Yes. And if you worked 3:30-9:30 you would get a 30. But anything after 4 PM you wouldn’t get a 30.
